This update brings dynamic carrier wake simulation to ocean scenes: stern turbulence foam and a spreading wake are generated in real time as the vessel moves, evolving with speed and maneuvers, and rendered seamlessly within the same lighting pipeline as the ocean surface.
What's new
- Dynamic wake generation — the wake is generated along the actual track and stretches toward the horizon, gradually spreading and fading without visible segmentation or texture tiling.
- Stern foam detail — dense, finely textured turbulence foam near the stern decays progressively with distance, conveying the energy dissipation of the wake.
- Maneuver response — the wake bends with the ship's track during turns, faithfully recording the maneuver history; speed changes are reflected immediately.
- Lighting integration — foam highlights and ocean glints are shaded under unified lighting, staying consistent across view angles and sun positions.
- All-angle support — stable detail from wave-skimming low angles up to top-down views, suitable for carrier landing and fleet-escort training scenarios.
The effect is integrated into the VBSNG ocean simulation module and applies to all surface vessels in the scene once enabled.
